The month of May begins with two 5Ks on the first two Saturdays.
First we have the LifeCare May Walk/Run:
The race begins at the City Center at 10am on Saturday, May 6th. This race is raising money to fight diabetes. For more information, go to LifeCareMedicalCenter.org.
Second, there is the Stomp Out Cancer Walk/Run:
This race begins at the City Park at 9am on Saturday, May 13th. Annually, Border State Bank's Roseau County Relay For Life Team (Lucky Border Stars) organizes this race. Funds raised benefit the Relay For Life of Roseau County and the American Cancer Society. My hope is that the weather will be a little better than last year when the temperature at race time was a chilly 32 degrees. For more information, go to BorderStateBank.com.

Year Six!
With the mild weather, I'm getting a much earlier start than normal. If the weather, and my body, cooperate, I may finish running every street by early June.
Again, it's a win, win, win situation:
- I'm running to raise money for Living Hope Ministries (LHM). LHM was started in 1993 in order to bring the "living hope" of Jesus Christ to the people of Northeast Minneapolis. LHM serves in Northeast Minneapolis and focuses especially on an area of one square mile which we have coined "the Miracle Mile.” It is a wonderfully diverse area, and an estimated 20,000 people live withing a mile radius of their building, 5000 of whom are under the age of 18. Financial poverty, relational poverty, and spiritual poverty are prevalent in the community, but the living hope of Jesus Christ is making an impact.
- It's a win for me. Running these streets knowing the money raised will help people keeps me motivated.
- It's a win for you who give. Acts 20:35 says: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’
