Year Eight!

It was a long, cold winter... After two months of running on a tread mill, boy was it great to run outdoors again. And what a beautiful day it was!

Today begins year eight of Running Every Street - 90 miles - to raise money for Living Hope Ministries. If you'd like to partner with me, please read the details on the right and let me know what you'd like to do.

Malung 5k Walk/Run

Yesterday the Malung 5k Walk/Run took place. The weather was great - mid-60s.

At the gun... (my new smart watch did something unexpected. I never recovered after that.)

I never did catch these folks.

Here I am at the start of the killer hill.

I managed to hold off the last minute surge of Jackie and Mary...

Wooden medals - the best ever!

Yellow Rose

The 15th annual Yellow Rose 5K Walk/Run was held Saturday, August 11th. Thankfully, the weather was much cooler than predicted due to the smoke from the Canadian forest fires preventing the direct sunlight from getting through. The race was a success raising $5250 for the Warroad Area Rescue Unit.

Roseau Bike Trails

I recently searched for a map of our bike trails in Roseau. I didn't find much, so I am contributing this. For a pdf version, click this link.

The Running Man

I just heard the story of Orville Rogers, a 100-year-old man, who is still running. He began running at the age of 50 and hasn't stopped. He ran a sub 10-minute mile at the age of 90 - a first. He's still breaking records at the age of 100.

Hear his story here.

Year Seven: Completed

I completed year seven of 'Running Every Street' a few days ago with my longest, least favorite run. Every year I save this 5.3 mile killer run for last. It's long straight roads to the west end of town, and then as south to the southwest corner of town.

We have $600 pledged! As soon as the money comes in, I'll get it sent off to Living Hope.

The Roseau ALS 5K is coming up on the 14th.

This is my favorite photo of the race from 2012:
